Recently, I stayed in Las Vegas. I researched and found a 5 night hotel booking with airfare for approximately $550. For this price, I could choose the South Point Hotel & Casino, the Stratosphere or the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. I had select the South Point Hotel & Casino instead of the Stratosphere or Hard Rock because they had a free airport shuttle. The Traveling Integrity…

These last couple of days, I have started working for the first time in Jacksonville International Airport atmosphere than McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Everything is much cleaner in Jacksonville and almost everything is accounted for. As I checked in customers, one had a dog and the dog was listed as an “Emotional Support Animal“; meaning the customer did not have to pay for the dog. As the customer walked off, they laughed and said: “I can’t believe that doctor’s letter worked.” I must note that she had good taste and had the same Juicy Couture pet carrier purse the I recently purchased. Clearly, these travelers did not have a medical problem to bring the dog on board for free and should have paid for the dog. Later on, when I was working down by the gate, a customer, when looking at the headphones for sale, asked: “Do I give you the money?” and I told him he should put it in the slot on top of the box. Then he said: “How do you enforce this?” He turned so I could not see the box and took out the headphones and asked me if I saw him pay. I told him the sale is based on his integrity. Most people do not know that many aircrafts now have universal headphone jacks for customers to bring their own headphones to use…

On the way out of Oklahoma City, Wednesday, I was pleasantly surprised by a Continental pilot by the name Rick who rode in the cockpit so I could have a seat to get home. I thanked him and boarded the ”sweatbox” flight. I refer to small aircraft such as an Embraer E145 where they have hot spots in the aircraft. Fortunately for me, I found it and wished I was wearing the outfit that caused all that Southwest havoc, but would keep my awesome Dr. Scholls Escapade shoes I got on 6pm.com. I have worn these shoes for days straight traveling through many many airports…When I got to Houston IAH, the “wide open” flight was now sold out, and I was not the first person on the standby list. To make matters more stressful, this was the last flight to Jacksonville for the evening. I certainly, did not do my homework on this trip, but quickly figured that it was early enough to find another flight on Continental to Tampa or Fort Lauderdale where I could make a connection on Southwest to Jacksonville. As soon, as I thought this they released the last seats to standbys and there were a few who did not make the flight. Of course, I suggested my backup plan and also told them the Expedia.com is one of the best travel websites to book travel not because their prices are the lowest because 50% of the time they are not but because they back their prices. If you find it elsewhere for less they will refund the difference. They also have a travel club called “Elite Plus”, which I am a member of and there are many perks to this club…-A

Checking The Weather First…

Yesterday, I headed out to the Jacksonville International Airport in to fly across the country to pick-up some documents at the McCarran International Las Vegas Airport. Thank goodness, I checked the weather on my trusty blackberry and read my station’s email telling me about a weather alert. With this tidbit of information, I decided to take the earlier flight through JFK to try and beat the weather. Once, I landed, I went by Gate 19 in the Jetblue JFK Terminal to get my routine Panini (typically ready in 5-7 minutes) to bring with me for the 6 hour flight I was about to endure. After I boarded and was taxiing down the runway in JFK to Vegas, I received an email saying flights were canceling! I was in the clear. I made it! Upon arrival in Las Vegas, I went to pickup my documents and ran to board my next flight back to Oklahoma City where my boyfriend resided. Some people were deboarding the aircraft I was about to get on, and a man stepped aside and took off his backpack and attached it to his rollerbag. I stopped him, this bag was totally my kind of bag! I found out it was called Rip Curl Business Class, I’ll have to save some money and checkout one of my favorite surfer websites that has great deals (Alloy.com) to see if they have the bag, they always have great deals and coupons to use…-A

Hi everyone , thanks for taking the time to read my blog. My Name is Ariel and I work for a major airline. I spend quite a bit of time traveling and hearing about all the travel stories that come my way because of my job.

I thought , with all the stories I hear and the Great finds I know about, I should write about it. If someone finds what I have to tell them interesting, a tip about a great place or more important in these tough economic times if I can pass on a great find, its all good.

I have had quite a few harrowing stories that as soon as get up the nerve to talk about , I will tell all.
